10 months....

Troy is ten months old today. I can't believe it. It seems like he was just born a few weeks ago. What did I do before we had him? He has made our lives so great in the short time he has been here. I can't wait to make many more memories with him.

On a funny note: Yesterday I got up and went into the kitchen to start breakfast for Troy. I heard him in his room playing in the crib. So I took my time and went to get him about 10 minutes later. When I opened his door I thought "gosh it smells in here, he must have done to the bathroom already", then I turned on the light. Oh my gosh- he had taken off his dirty diaper and let me tell you, it was everywhere. All in the crib, on the wall, in his hair and eyebrows,
all in his blanket... It took me 30 minutes to clean him and another hour to clean the room. Oh it was awful!!!

Here are a few pictures of Evan and Troy playing the other night: sorry about the red eyes.

Troy: the first ten months...

I was looking at all of Troy's pictures and thinking how much he has changed over the last ten months! I thought I would post a picture from every month so we could see the change. It was hard picking pictures because I tried to get one from the end of each month so there should be about 3-4 weeks in between each picture. Hope you enjoy!

June- 10 months
May- 9 months (after the 4th haircut I think most of the dark had been cut off)
April- 8 months
March- 7 months
Feb- 6 months (hair started getting lighter about here)
Jan- 5 months--- his first haircut was a few days before this picture

Oct- 2 months
Sept- 1 month-- Look how much his hair grew in 3 1/2 weeks!
Aug- birth

Daycare is tough...

Why does it have to be so hard to send a child to daycare? I mean most people have to at some pint and time. So why do we mothers always feel so guilty about it? Troy has started going a few times a week for a few hours so he can get used to it before school starts back (or so I can get used to it). I really do want to go back to work but I feel awful leaving Troy. I have been lucky to be able to stay with him for the first year but it is still so hard. I have thoughts like: I don't want someone else to raise my baby and will they watch him like I do? or will all his needs be met the way they are at home? It is really tough! I know people do it all the time, so I will make it. I just worry about so much. I don't want to waste any time that I have with him, I didn't even want him to nap this afternoon because I wanted to spend time with him. I don't want things to have to change too much for him.

Father's Day weekend.

MeeMaw and MiMi came to visit us on Sat. We had a great time going out to eat.
Here is MiMi and Troy
On Sunday after church we ate at Gwen's house then got ready to go kayaking on the Coosa. Trent went with us. Obed and I flipped three times and I got very scared the last time we flipped because I got hung under the boat and couldn't get out from under the water. Obed had to come under and find me and pull me out. Once we got through that set of rapids we find out that a man from our group had just drowned in the same place. It ended up being a very sad end to a great Father's Day. I pray for the family that lost their dad/husband.

This is what happens when we let Mo feed Troy: He dumped his pudding out on the table and was playing slip and slide in it. It was so funny and I got a little on video that I will share.

Happy Father's Day to my sweet husband. Thank you for being such a great dad to Troy. I know he loves you very much.
sorry the video is sideways. I guess I had the camera turned and I couldn't figure out how to rotate the video...

Pool time...

We got Troy a new pool today. He cut the grass with Obed while I got it set up. I almost passed out blowing everything up. HA So here are some pictures and a video of him playing.

Baby boy clothes????

I got back home tonight to find Obed, Trent and Troy playing in the sprinklers- Troy was too cute! He loves the water.
Before I headed back home today I went material shopping for Troy. I am going to make him some John John's because you just can't find cute ones for boys????? I am still on the lookout for a cute birthday outfit or material to make one. Laura Beth said she would help me and Carmen offered as well.

finally caught up...

so I made it to June, It took a while to go back and post all of my journal from the past year and 1/2. But I finally got it up to date. I am sure things were left out, but I hope to keep it up to date from now on. June has been very busy for us, with pottery parties, football workouts, job interviews.... I will be working at Eclectic Elementary next year! I am excited and sad about going back to work. I think I am ready to get back into the swing of things with work, but I am really nervous about leaving Troy somewhere. He will be staying with Gwen Sides and I know he will be fine, its me I'm worried about. HA.
I am headed to Madison for a pottery party this afternoon, be back in Wetu tomorrow night. I am going to miss Troy so bad!!!
Troy is SO close to walking, he has even let go and taken a step a few times. I can't believe he is about to be walking. I feel like he was just born. I gave him another haircut (#4) yesterday. This child has some wild hair thats for sure!

From April 2009...

April 26 2009: Me, mom, meemaw, charlotte, gerald, mandy and the kids went to the beach to celebrate meemaw's 80th birthday. The kids all had a blast! Troy loved the sand and the ocean.

April 18 2009. Today is MeeMaw's 80th birthday and today was Tanner's birthday party. We went to Pell City for Tanner's party. We are going to the beach next week to celebrate MeeMaw's birthday. It will be Troy's first trip to the beach. I am so excited.

April 13 2009: This was a great weekend. We had the whole family over on Sat for Easter. We ate and the kids dyed eggs and had an easter egg hunt! It was a blast. Sunday we went to church and then to Gwen's to eat. Here are a few pictures from Sunday. I haven't loaded the ones from Sat. yet because they were taken with a different camera.

my favorite picture of the day

April 8 2009: Today we went to a baseball game with daddy. Here is Troy riding in his new car seat for the first time. He doesn't fit in the other one well anymore. He acts like his legs cramp up because he is too long for it. So we will see how this one works out.
April 2 2009: Troy got his THIRD haircut today. And from the pictures you can tell he really needed it. He was such a good boy sitting up in the big chair!
